Rock N Roll Hall of Fame

It doesnt make much sense to me that Rappers are now in the "Rock" hall of fame and the following artists are not:

Deep Purple
Chicago (yes, they were a ROCK band at one time)
Alice Cooper
Grand Funk Railroad
America
Genesis
YES
Electric Light Orchestra
Rush
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Foreigner
Jethro Tull
Three Dog Night
