‘Dancing’ hands out first perfect 30 of season
Holly Madison likely to head home, but will Steve or Steve-O join her?

Last week’s elimination of Denise Richards brought “Dancing With The Stars” one step closer to universal dancing adequacy, which now requires only the ousters of Steve Wozniak, Steve-O, and Holly Madison. Could this week’s performances and anticipated double-elimination get two-thirds of the job done?

The computer geek’s luck runs out, and so does the Playboy model’s

The bottom three: The double elimination took us back to a plodding reveal of the bottom three. The dull slow drip made Gilles Marini safe, then Lawrence Taylor, then Shawn Johnson, Chuck Wicks, Lil’ Kim, Melissa Rycroft, then Ty Murray. Holly Madison and Steve-O had been placed in the bottom three along the way, so this left Steve Wozniak and David Alan Grier. Unsurprisingly, the low-scored Steve was in the bottom three, and the higher-scored David was safe. Of Holly and the two barely-dancing Steves, two were destined to go home.

Last week wasn’t an especially impressive week for many of the contenders of “Dancing With The Stars,” so several were eager to get back on track on Monday night.

A change of plans: After Monday night’s shakeups (Gilles Marini, down; Lil’ Kim, up), viewers were looking at two familiar guys at the very bottom of the judges’ ratings.

Steve-O and Ty Murray have both struggled in the past, though Steve-O has consistently stunk, while Ty was down, then up, then back down. The two of them seemed destined to share space under the ominous red light of the bottom two.

But host Tom Bergeron surprise-announced early on that there would be no dance-off this week, for reasons he did not share.

I don't like this show at all. You can tell that the judges are unnaturally nice to them because they're celebrities. And it just shows how obsessed people are with these people...it's annoying IMO.

“Dancing With the Stars” doesn’t usually roll out the drama the minute the contestants come down the stairs, but when Melissa Rycroft didn’t appear, something was clearly amiss.

Kicking it off: It was no surprise to see this episode begin with an encore performance of Team Tango’s … uh, team tango from Monday night. Viewers were given a review of the situation, including the fact that Melissa Rycroft had to be judged on her rehearsal tape as a result of her rib injury. Melissa told co-host Samantha Harris that she was trying some new treatments, and that she hoped she’d be able to continue if she survived the week.
